Artist’s Bio

Lorelei Brand embarked on her artistic journey in 2016 while attending Tulane University, where she discovered her passion for glass sculpture art. She began with a mixed-media approach, utilizing found-metal art alongside wood-casted glass. Her work, which poignantly addressed the mental health crisis in New Orleans, was featured in the Tulane University Undergraduate Juried Exhibition in 2018, marking her artistic debut.

In 2019, Lorelei temporarily stepped away from the art world to serve as a Combat Systems Officer in the United States Air Force. However, her creative spirit remained undeterred. Seeking a medium that could accompany her anywhere, she rekindled her artistic pursuits in 2021 by delving into photography. This shift taught her that art is a product of the artist's vision, transcending any particular medium. Through photography, she finds joy in capturing and immortalizing the places she visits, the people she encounters, and the myriad of emotions and moments she witnesses.

Lorelei's passion for photography extends beyond personal expression; she owns a wedding and elopement photography company, capturing the intimate and joyous moments of couples' wedding days. Additionally, in 2023 Lorelei was elected Vice President of the Goldsboro Area Photography Club, where she played a pivotal role in organizing workshops and meetings designed to foster a dynamic and supportive environment for both amateur and professional photographers.

Lorelei’s work is characterized by a keen eye for detail and a deep appreciation for life's subtleties. Drawing from her diverse experiences, she seamlessly blends the precision and discipline of her military background with the creative freedom of her artistic pursuits, crafting a unique and compelling artistic vision.
